Saigon River Piers in Ho Chi Minh City
The piers on the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City that are currently used by public boat service providers (south to north):
- Bach Dang Pier (No. 1) - the main pier of Saigon Waterbus. Located in the city center just across the street from the iconic hotels Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon and Hilton Saigon, the pier is close to the city's most famous attractions, such as Saigon Opera, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Notre Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace, and Bitexco Financial Tower with Saigon Sky Deck on top of it.
- Thu Tiem Pier (No. 2) - the pier on another side of the Saigon River, where you can relax in Saigon Riverside Park and enjoy the views of the Ho Chi Minh City center.
- Ba Son Pier (No. 3) - the pier located next to MRT Ba Son Station and very close to Le Meridien Saigon as well as the iconic Ba Son Bridge.
- Binh An Pier (No. 4) - the nearest pier to Vietnam's tallest building, Landmark 81, where you can find a spectacular Landmark 81 Skyview observation deck and the exceptional hotel, Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection.
- Thao Dan Pier (No. 5) - the pier next to a small Thao Dien Market, which is also close to the modern Vincom Mega Mall Thao Dien and MRT Thao Dien Station.
- Thanh Da Pier (No. 8) - the pier on the Thanh Da Peninsula, close to Binh Quoi Tourist Village, offering a tranquil countryside setting not far from the city center.
- Hiep Binh Chanh Pier (No. 10) - the pier where you can get off for a coffee or lunch along the river or to visit the Gigamall Shopping Center, which is about 1.5 km away.
- Linh Dong Pier (No. 11) - the terminal pier on the Saigon Waterbus route, with a nice cafe and a river-crossing ferry to Binh Quoi Tourist Village nearby.
Pay attention that the majority of Saigon Waterbus boats only travelĀ between the first five piers, from Bach Dang Pier to Thai Dan Pier and back. There are normally only 4-5 boat departures a day that cover the entire route to Linh Dong. If you go to Linh Dong and don't return with the same boat that normally departs 15-30 minutes later, you might need to wait for 2-3 hours until the next boat departure.
Along the Saigon River, you can also find other piers, but currently they are not used by Ho Chi Minh City's public boats.
